An
Introduction to the Club
The
North Kent Amateur Computer Club has been in existence for 27 years
this year. There is a potted History
available.
It
has met in various venues in the South East of London, and has recently moved to a venue (with Internet access) in Orpington.
Over
the last few years the club has experienced a resurgence of interest,
and now has a thriving membership with a wide variety of interests
spread across all social groups. The members have a wide variety
of experience from using applications, to more involved computer
usage.
The
Club consists of a bunch of friendly people, who enjoy chatting
about what makes all kinds of new technology tick.
Historically,
the Club has gone through Pet, Amiga, Acorn, Apple and Windows phases,
with a liberal sprinkling of various pocket/notebook machines along
the way.
Currently,
members have experience of Acorn, Windows and Linux machines, and running
all the major OS's. We hope that members will bring their machines
and their friends to meetings so that we can all learn about them,
especially if they are a bit unusual or innovative.
We
are always looking for new members, please contact
us or simply come along!
